A Brief Explanation

Ramadan (Arabic: رمضان; tr.: Ramadan) is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar(Islamic calendar). All this month the Islamic religions perform a series of activitiesincluding religious fast, Iftar, warning the decline of the Glorious Qur'an, Laylatul Al-Qadr night, seeking to expand the reading the Al Quran and then end it by paying thezakat fitrah and series of celebrations of the Eid al-Fitr. Specificity of Ramadan forMuslim religions are reflected on the Koran in surat Al-Baqarah verse 185 which means:

"the month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an as a guidance for mankindand clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion. Therefore, whoever among you is present on the Moon, then let him that month ... "


Religious activity in the month of Ramadan


1. The fast of Ramadan

During the month of Ramadan, followers of the religion of Islam will be fasting every day until Idul Fitri arrives. Eid means Festival. Fithri comes from the word fathara meaning ' break, ending ". Eid al-Fithri meaning Feast Ending fasting (Ramadan).

The last day of the month of Ramadan is celebrated with great joy by all Muslims in the world. In the evening (I.e., night 1), commonly called the night of victory, they will say the Takbeer in unison. In Indonesia alone this ritual into a spectacle that attracted settlers because usually (a Muslim) would say the takbir while marched around town and villages, sometimes complemented by striking the beduk and lit Fireworks.

The next day the 1st of shawwāl is celebrated as Eid, both men and women will flock to the muslim mosque as well as the field site will do Salat Eid. Salat is performed two raka'at will then be terminated by two sermons on Eid al-Fitr. The celebration continued with each sorry event among the Muslims, and at once put an end to a whole series of special religious events that accompany the Ramadan.

2. Tarawih prayers during the month of Ramadan

In the evening, after Isha prayer, Muslims continued to worship with implementing the Iftar. A special prayer is only done in the month of Ramadan. Iftar, although workable with singly, typically performed in congregation at mosques. Sometimes before the implementation of Iftar at certain places, held a brief lecture to equip the jama'ah in fulfilling our worship in the month concerned. After performing tarawih prayers, usually directly in the witr prayer continue with as many as three rak'ahs.
